[Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Try starting the Jabber plugin. It is another plugin that has a dependant DLL.

Yep, I was asked about the 64-bit assemblies and DID installed them when asked.
The Jabber plugin was already installed... and you're right, it has a similar symptom... when I go to the OSA manager and try to enable it, it says "Starting..."
but never "Started"... same thing when I try to stop it... it says "Stopping, but never "Stopped" (until I close and reopen the OSA Manager. Here's what the log shows when I try to enable the Jabber plugin...

Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Upon more careful inspection, I've noticed that in the OSA manager, none of the plugins say "Started"... only "Starting"... even when I haven't enabled either Jabber or ZWave plugins... weird... Jabber error is still valid tho... Wonder if it's related to some damn security "feature" or some such UAC-type "feature"...?
Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Good possibility.MindMusic wrote:Wonder if it's related to some damn security "feature" or some such UAC-type "feature"...?
Even on an OSA system that is working I have seen the plugin states not going to "Running". Sometimes I have had to completely close OSA Manager and then re-start it to get the proper plugin state.
Do your plugins like 'Email" and "Network Monitor" which do you require a dependent DLL start without errors?

Yes I've got the same error as MindMusic on that (see OSEA Service Log further down)Automate wrote:Try starting the Jabber plugin. It is another plugin that has a dependant DLL.
Also same with me.MindMusic wrote: .... I've noticed that in the OSA manager, none of the plugins say "Started"... only "Starting"
I'm too new to OSA to be able to verify correct function of those, but the parts of OSAE Service log relating to them look ok?:Automate wrote:Do your plugins like 'Email" and "Network Monitor" which do you require a dependent DLL start without errors?

Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Yes, OpenZwaveDotNet.dll is the third part DLL that needs to get loaded.ControlsFreak wrote:Now I've been looking closer at the logs I'm wondering if this line from the Plugin Loader Log might provide a clue?:Code: Select all

The "Found a not .NET assembly" is a typo it should read "Could not find .NET assembly"
The problem looks to be the double backslash "\\Plugins". Not sure why this problem just started happening.
Have you checked that all the latest Windows updates are installed? Especially those for .NET.
Does the registry key value at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OSAE\DBSETTINGS\INSTALLDIR have a backslash on the end?

Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Windows 7 is up-todate (at least to a couple of days ago).Automate wrote:Have you checked that all the latest Windows updates are installed? Especially those for .NET.
When I first tried to install MySql I was prompted to install "Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Web Installer)", which I did from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=17113. I see however that a version 4.5 is also available...
Yes, it's value is "C:\Program Files\OSA\"Automate wrote:Does the registry key value at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OSAE\DBSETTINGS\INSTALLDIR have a backslash on the end?
I don't suppose the problem would be caused by my having moved ZWave_0.5.4.osapp from the downloads folder to C:\Program Files\OSA\Plugins before I ran it?
Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Try stopping the OSA service then shutting down OSA Manager. Remove the "\" on the end of the registry value and then starting OSA again.ControlsFreak wrote:Yes, it's value is "C:\Program Files\OSA\"Automate wrote:Does the registry key value at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OSAE\DBSETTINGS\INSTALLDIR have a backslash on the end?

Re: [Official Thread] Z-Wave Plugin v0.5.1
Well that's got rid of the double "\" in the Plugin Loader Log: Wierdly it doesn't seem to have made any difference (good or bad) to the output from the OSAE Service Log though. Still showing the same error (have tried a couple of start/stops)
I should have mentioned before: there's an error showing in the Manager Log too. The following is written to the log twice a minute:
Code: Select all
12/21/2013 10:56:09.843 PM - DLL Found while loading Plugins:C:\Program Files\OSA\Plugins\ZWave\OpenZWaveDotNet.dll

Any hints at the problem in your Windows event logs?
