046 Tersters ONLY

#1 Post by Vaughn » Tue Jul 28, 2015 3:04 pm

I am attaching the latest 046 build. If you can install this on a test machine, or you do not have an existing OSA setup and understand that you may have to delete this install before using 046 permanently, then please feel free to download it and report any first run issues with it.

For example, there are still known bugs being released, like if a Screen Object points to an non-existent object, it will cause Screens to error. But a new user may never experience this. I am looking for pains and bugs and bad experiences to getting it up and running the first time.

(rename the attachment to have a .exe extension)

Thanks!
Vaughn

Well, damn. The 60mb setup file seems to be too much for the forums. I am going to go back to the Web Installer for the .NET framework, which will reduce the size by like 40mb.

Ok, finally got it uploaded, had to use a .txt extension to get it by the filters, so just rename...

Okay, the program loaded fine after I disabled Norton's, however, the web console still does not come up..

Even after a few minutes? You can also open UWS and see if the site is green in there, try to open the web page from there.

Is this a clean machine, or did it have older versions of OSA on it. I am thinking the UID of the web site has changed, not sure if it is relevant.

I am pretty burned out tonight, I will try to look at the web site more tomorrow and test the install with and with a previous site being registered, etc.

No Problem Vaughn Get some rest.
As to UWS I will assume you mean User Web Site? EG: Web console? That is what is not coming up. I will check the UWS this morning again. The manager starts and runs fine with the exception of the screens button which crashes the Manager.

As to a clean machine, no however OSA was completely removed and the schema and user dropped from the MySQL.

Okay, one thing I did notice this morning is the OSA Icon comes up in the web tab, so obviously this is a time out issue.

I was able to duplicate your problem, installing OSA without uninstalling UWS. The reregistering of the website is not working.

If you want to try and uninstall UWS it may help you get a clean install, else I am trying to see if I can fix it.

(In Win7 there should be an uninstall shortcut under the start menu for Ultidev, on Window 8, you have to search for UWS and an uninstall should show up.

found it, I had the register website IN the install UWS block of code, so if you already had UWS, it just was not running those commands, I should have another build shortly

I also found the error in Manager, it was just pointing to the old name OSA.GUI.exe instead of OSA.Screens.exe...

Testing new build now.
