I can't see my new PLACE in the Objects Container drop-down.

#1 Post by rjm12rjm12 » Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:35 am

Hi All,

I'm having trouble seeing my PLACE show up in my Object as a container. I saw some examples that show that I should set my Object container to my new PLACE, just copied one that was already there.

I went to Management\Object Types and created a PLACE:

Base Type Object Type Description
PLACE KITCHEN Location: Kitchen

Name : KITCHEN Owned By : SYSTEM
Desc : Location: Kitchen Base Type : PLACE

I checked Container, Reserved System Type and Hide Redundant Events.

I stopped and restarted everything.

Thanks,

Rob

I will test adding a new object type like you are, later on.

I am curious why you are adding a new object type in the first place?

I just add a new object called Kitchen with a Type of PLACE...

I believe this is what he is actually trying to do. He is just going about it the wrong way.

Go to the objects page.
Create a new object , say.. Kitchen and select the type as PLACE.

Now you can go to a relay switch maybe named Kitchen Lights, and set the container to the Kitchen PLACE.

Yes thank you that was what I was trying to do. Some of the older posts have the older UI interface and I got confused.

Thanks,

Rob
