Anyone else using Windows 7? I do not have a Windows 7 test machine.

I Do.

I have never used the Mobile site before. But I can try anything you want while I'm still at a fresh install of 4.7.
Just let me know what you want me to try.

Right now if I go to it on my phone, I get a blank screen.
Well not totally blank, but OSA at the top and Home, System and Status at the bottom.

Clicking on them does nothing.

To use it from your phone, you have to port-forward:

8081 & 8732 to your OSA server, both in the router and Windows if you use Windows firewall.

You can try these 3 links though, since they are localhost, they eliminate firewall issues. The links should either show you some json returns.

http://localhost:8732/api/objects/basetype/PERSON
http://localhost:8732/api/objects/type/PERSON
http://localhost:8732/api/objects/container/HOUSE

Thanks

OK,

Without doing anything to my firewalls, I tried the 3 links above.
All 3 returned JASON information for me.

Is there something else I need to try?

Thanks. No, there is nothing else to try. If those 3 links work for you, then you are good. That rules out any Windows 7 issues.

Well I installed another version of windows 7 but it still does the same, the rest calls do not work on it either. It must be something I'm doing wrong but I don't know what so I will just have to use it without the mobile page.

I tried not to let this depress me, and went ahead and worked on several other issues yesterday and got a bunch done. Then at 5am I started working on the ticket opened for logging from the web site (very old issue), and it kicked my butt for 3 hours until I passed out. So now I have 2 pending issues I can't fix.

I will look at both of them for a bit today, but then may just have to go work on upgrading Screens, or something I can get accomplished to keep some positive momentum going for the next release. I am kinda manic and don't handle failure well =)

mpinnie, you are not using any special character sets in Windows, eh? Not that I think you are a foreigner or anything, but your timestamps looked like you may be outside the country, and any characterset difference could impact the json parsing....

If you want, I could look over your install with TeamViewer sometime. Again, I don't know exactly what I would be looking for, but maybe I would spot missing files or data, or just something out of place. I could also possibly set you up with the free Visual Studio 2015 Community and pull a copy of the source down on your machine and let you run it, but that may be way more involved than you care to get. Whatever I can do without pushing you too far =D

I have never tried the Android plugin either, maybe that would work for you, but I am not sure what it even does, playing with it is on my list at some point.

Are you able to access the mobile UI directly on the OSA machine? I had to update my windows firewall to allow external connects on port 8081. By default it was only allowing connections from within the same network.

we are testing with (from local browsers):
http://localhost:8732/api/objects/basetype/PERSON
http://localhost:8732/api/objects/type/PERSON
http://localhost:8732/api/objects/container/HOUSE

and have confirmed no firewall issues because some rest calls are working, but those 3 are not. The only difference is the working rest calls are all returning like a single line. The larger calls above cause a connection reset and never generate any json.

He is an international user, and no domestic problems have been reported. So my current theory is some possibly characterset issues, something that would cause the json to malform... But that is just a wild guess.

When Install windows I use the default character set the only thing I change is the timezone. I will reinstall windows and make sure.
