Hi guys!

Yes the mobile pages do work on my Nexus 5.

When I run through the app wizard the Test Connection works fine.
I then register my device with Google Cloud Messaging and that say successful.
I then create a new object, this works fine.... But didn't before so at some point something must have restarted and now it working :-)
Send test notifications, says successful but nothing ever arrives?

Being a total OSA newbie.... What would be the easiest way to make a PIR sensor in the house send a notification to the phone when motion is detected?

The command to create the GCMID property is not in the install.sql file of the plugin

Remember, plugin designers, you can vailidate your needed object types, create or modify them on startup, set the owner, etc. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't, will really have to decide the best practices for this...

Hi

Has anyone managed to get the google now integration working in the android app? I have installed the xposed framework and the google search api and enabled it in the settings in the app, but I can't seem to get it to work? Am I missing something?

Thanks

I have always wanted to make submitting source to be a requirement to have a plugin hosted on our site. This Android software is a prime reason why. I have not heard from the developer in a long time and we never got the source, so we cannot update it.

It is mostly just a REST implementation plus the microphone option, but it will have to be recreated from scratch. Hopefully someone will make a new application for Android/iOS and we will get the source next time so we can maintain it as new versions of OSA are released.

Actually we do have the source code, its just in a separate repository.

You can see it here https://github.com/opensourceautomation/Android

That is great! I might just move it over the UI directory in the main repository. Kirk has some work in on a replacement though, so I will let him decide which base he wants to work on and maybe just merge some features...

I generally use the full desktop webui even on my phone because I am addicted to the graphical screens, but the mobile client is nice if I want to do something fast. And I think mobile devices are a must to support to achieve any public acceptance, along with the insane new craze of smart speakers. So I am real glad for some good news in these areas. I will make sure it is tested and released in 049.

Well, actually, it's not a replacement.....
I have made a few changes and added a few new features to the Mobile UI, but basically all I have done is added the new REST Security code.

Since the Android app uses the RESTful interface, this will also have to be updated to use the new Security.
As I mentioned before, I don't have any Android coding experience, but I am willing to look at the code and see if I can determine where and how to implement the new REST security requirements.

Oh, I didn't realize there was any source to work on until Automate just posted it, and misread your post as I am often in a rush. Perfect then, the current android app works fine for me, so all it would need in that key. The only thing that was not working for me was the mic, not sure if it ever worked or how. I still have to read the other two Git issues you updated about the buttons, etc.

I will go ahead and move the source over and peek at it too.
