Correct, i have "Allow programs on this system to control XBMC" On and "Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC" On, and "Allow control of XBMC via HTTP" On port 80, i am able to connect to the XBMC box using a web browser and can control it that way.

You don't see any new logging when you play or stop a video? No i don't see anything else besides lots of

can you try using a different port for control in XBMC? I am using 808. not sure if that makes a difference, but maybe.

Tried changing the HTTP port in xbmc this had no effect on the logs, it was still showing that it was connected, the only time the logs showed disconnected was when i changed Allow programs on other systems to control XBMC to off then the logs would show that the connection failed.

What i have also noticed that in Tools --> Objects --> XBMC SYSTEM no matter what port i put in the field i always get connection succsessful even if i restart the service... strange

Haven't been able to set mine up with XBMC yet but there's a new version coming out soon, Frodo, which has removed the HTTP remote control. I believe it will instead be using JSON-RPC. Will this plugin be updated to support this?

Thanks

I am currently working on a new version since the current library I am using won't work with Frodo. There is a new library being developed that uses JSON-RPC that I am using.

Any news on this one?

Is Therese a demo anywhere? What can it do?

Yes. I have been able to update the plugin to work with the latest version of XBMC. Problem is the plugin is only compatible with v0.4.0 of OSA. Once we release the next version of OSA I will release the updated plugin. Of course the updated code is in the repository if you are running the latest build.
