OSA objects update as they should but I was wondering if this is expected?

Yes, this is normal. The reason the plugin pings the clients is in the situation where you might shut down and restart XBMC without restarting the OSA plugin. This was happening to me occasionally and then I would stop getting alerts from XBMC and would have to restart the plugin. Now it pings the clients and if they don't respond it will clear out the connection and then begin trying to reconnect until it is able to do do successfully. If the ping logs are showing up when not in DEBUG mode I should change that.

I see that you have multiple instances of XBMC running. Let me know if you have any issues since I only have one and only able to test with that.

Thanks Brian,

I'm not in DEBUG mode, so having the option not to log these would be good. As for the multiple instances of XBMC, I've not seen anything odd happening. The only thing I have noticed is that I can't control XBMC from the plugin. Reporting into OSA works fine but trying to pause XBMC doesn't seem to be working as I'd expect.

Looking at the XBMC plugin code in Github the flag is set to False. I'm thinking this is another case of this issue. https://github.com/opensourceautomation ... issues/112

I've been wondering if I'm the only one seeing this logging problem.

I'm having some trouble getting this set up, I have Openelec running on a raspberry pi and all set to enable remote control properly (works with yatse on my phone).

XBMC log gives the following error:

Code: Select all

12/18/2013 06:53:06.562 PM - Creating new XBMC System connection: XBMC Raspberry - 192.168.0.102
12/18/2013 06:53:06.578 PM - Error on timer tick: Method not found: 'System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1<!!0> System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Run(System.Func`1<System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1<!!0>>)'.
12/18/2013 06:53:08.996 PM - Found Command: VPLAYPAUSE | param1: | param2:
12/18/2013 06:53:11.570 PM - Creating new XBMC System connection: XBMC Raspberry - 192.168.0.102
12/18/2013 06:53:11.601 PM - Error on timer tick: Method not found: 'System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1<!!0> System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Run(System.Func`1<System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1<!!0>>)'.
I think everything is set correctly on OSA side, IP, port and username are all set.

Any ideas of things to try/check?

Thanks

That is a strange error. I am going to be getting my system up and running soon and will take a look at this when I get to the XBMC part.

Not getting the same error anymore strangely. However it's still not working, the log just shows:

Code: Select all

12/18/2013 07:33:56.788 PM - Running interface
12/18/2013 07:34:01.062 PM - Creating new XBMC System connection: XBMC Raspberry - 192.168.0.102

That's good. What version of XBMC are you running. The plugin doesn't work with the latest version 12.2 since there were some changes in the XBMC API and the plugin has not been updated to reflect them. The library that I am using in the plugin has not been updated with the latest version either. You can see the thread over on the XBMC forum here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=141604

That would explain it then, I thought the plugin had been updated already. Is this on the to-do list?

Yes, but it is contingent on the XBMC library being updated first or finding another one that will work with the latest version.
