WUnderground API shutting down

I just got an email from WUnderground that their API will be shutting down 12/31/2018 for good.

I have to research some more, but I wonder if that means we will no longer be able to pull data?

That will be a big blow. I am worried about Hangouts doing the same thing. =( What do we do if there is no free weather info at all?

This looks like something we may be able to use. https://openweathermap.org/api

It shows the WU was bought by the Weather Channel, and you now have to use their API.
But I do not see where they have a Free personal version.
