Confused about VR

#1 Post by Milenko » Tue Dec 06, 2011 2:42 pm

So I think I'm supposed to run the OSEA.VR.exe executable to do VR stuff, correct? It starts up, but I think I'm missing a step. It says it's using an object called VR CLIENT-milly, but I don't have that object in my object list. The only output in the VR2 logfile is one line that says: ObjectAdded Successfully

I've tried making changes to the Speech object as far as the wake and sleep phrases, but the VR.exe program doesn't seem to use those as none of the listed settings change.

Can you check to see if you have the VR CLIENT object type?

Nope, it's not on the list.

That is strange. I definitely see it in the install and update scripts. Look in the 0.3.2-0.3.3.sql update script and look for the section near the end that adds the VR CLIENT object type. It is lines 1828-1851. If you have MySql workbench or something else to run scripts with, run those line to create the object type.

So I figured I'd give a reinstall a try and when the installer got to the mysql part it said my DB was still at 0.3.2. Not sure if that's a bug in the installer, or if the upgrade script isn't running during the install.

I'll run the 0.3.2-0.3.3.sql file on the DB and see what happens.

Yup, looks like there's something wrong with my db.

Running the .sql file against my db gives the following error message:

Code: Select all

/* SQL Error (1305): PROCEDURE osae.osae_sp_object_type_property_option_add does not exist */
The script stops and none of the changes are applied.

What's strange is that lines 22 and 23 add the column property_image to the case_objects_property table and I do have that column already.

that procedure is part of the update file too. Looks like somehow the update didn't get applied. Just run the whole update script and all should be ok.

That's what I'm trying to do. The drop command on line 744 causes the error above and the script halts.

I think I got it working. I commented out the drop commands for option_add, option_delete, and option_update (lines 744, 769, and 799 respectively) and then ran the .sql file again and it seems to have worked. I now have the VR client object type and the VR.exe executable is picking up the settings from the vr client object.

Also the ALTER TABLE command on line 22 caused an error since the column already existed.
