W800RF Demo App

#1 Post by Vaughn » Wed Jul 11, 2012 4:32 am

I made a demo app for generic testing of the W800RF devices. Why? Because there is no source available for the existing Demo app, and also, this app will decode security devices.

The app is just an exe and should run with no installation.

Please take a look at it, and make any suggestions before I hand the source over to WGL.

Thanks,
Vaughn

Tried the app, works for a while on my 64 bit system. I was able to decode signals from
MS14A Motion
KR10A Security Remote
KR22A Keychain Remote
DS10A Security Contact
however, the app crashed after a few minutes.

I will error trap it and leave it run for a bit.

I found the error, it was on normal X10 unit codes 9-16, I needed to subtract &H20 from the House code on them.

I think it is ok now. I updated the zip attached to the initial post. I also changed the OSA DLL but will have to upload it later.

I ran the app for about 10 hours with no errors. Does this mean that the re-written plugin is likely to work for me as well?

Yes, the plugin code is almost identical to the new demo app. So hopefully this addresses any issues we have had with plugin over the years too. I guess I never really understood this plugin, but now I know every single line by heart and can definitly say it is a cleaner and better plugin and that I will be able to address any issues with new devices, etc.

Well there might still be something wrong I just left it running and it crashed sometime on Friday night. So it ran 30 hours or something.

Last time I only fixed codes 9-16 from causing an error. I guess other invalid house codes can slip in... So I trapped the House Code lookup and if a bad code gets in now, it will just right a log message and continue without crashing.

I updated the download in the first message, and the application should say v1.0.3 in the window title. I am updating the dll too, although it has never seemed to have these problems, I am keeping the code in sync with the demo app...
