Hi Brian,
I've recently been looking at the Home Easy range of switches as they are much cheaper than the LightwaveRF range. Just wondering if you were ever able to get this fully working with Home Easy?

Thanks

As far as I know it works, but I am unable to test it myself since I don't have any of those devices. If you decide to get them and you come across any problems we can work to get them working.

Awesome, I'd much prefer to go with Home Easy now that I've realised they're half the price of the Lightwave switches.
I'll try it when I can and let you know how it goes.

Thanks

Hi All firstly let me say well done with the work to date. I've been shopping around for a better HA software after outgrowing Misterhouse. And within 1 day I'm up and running with the help of your instructional videos and docs. From what I've seen this system seems to have everything I'm looking for , and from my point of view the UI is flexible and fairly easy to master. Its really the UI of the users (people who are using the system) that needs to be easy and with the screen builder and designer this is really quick to achieve, and that's not something that can be said about a lot of other HA software.

I have a quick question about using the RFXcom plugin. I am able to control my home easy devices with it now I have various light switches and plugs etc... My question is , is there any way to track the state of these devices by listening for commands sent to them by other external devices?

for example I have a sitting room main light that has a homeeasy switch on the wall , I've seen with xpl and eventghost that I could "see" the wall switch being pressed , by seeing the "on" or "off" command being sent to the device by the wall switch. Is there any way to track these changes and keep a state of this light in the back end of OSA? So it can be checked before running scripts?

Again I'm new to OSA so if this is an obvious question please bear with me!

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

I am not sure how all the different lighting protocols work that the RFXCom supports. In order for the controller to be aware of a state change that it did not initiate the device would have to send some kind of message alerting of the change. It sounds like Home easy might do this since you are able to do it with xpl and eventghost, but maybe the RFXCom plugin just doesn't support that message yet. Can you check in the RFXCom log that gets generated in the Logs directory of your OSA install? Make sure the system is set to Debug mode in the Manager first, then trigger the lights from the external source and check the log to see any message is logged.

So it looks like the RFXCom is receiving the message that the light was turned on/off, but the plugin has not been updated to handle it and update the object within OSA. That is something that will need to be added will need to be released in a new version. It probably won't be hard or time consuming, but unfortunately all plugin updates are on hold until we release v0.4.0 of OSA.
