This is confusing me now. I can't even get the new logging to show up. Can you try running the RFXMngr? Also, try installing an older version of the plugin and see if the problem goes away.

I'm still not seeing the logging that I put in. Can you try an old version to see if it was at least not giving the timeout error before i started making changes. Also try the RFXMngr to see if it is a problem with the OSA plugin specifically

Hi Brian,
I think its due to ac device sending multiple messages back to rfxtrx..
If the plugin could somehow notice that its a duplicate message, and not process it. so the received message gets processed only one...
It seems the errro message starts to appear when reading the first byte of the second message.

11 17 00 00 03 17 53 20 09 00 00 96
11 17 00 01 03 17 53 20 09 00 00 96
11 17 00 02 03 17 53 20 09 00 00 96

There's a sequence number 4th part in the above, maybe that could be used..
But not sure how it can be handled when received message is in a different format - i.e.
04 02 01 02 00
09/27/2012 07:57:14.717 AM - ---------------Received Message----------------
09/27/2012 07:57:14.720 AM - Packettype = Receiver/Transmitter Message
09/27/2012 07:57:14.726 AM - subtype = Transmitter Response
09/27/2012 07:57:14.731 AM - Sequence nbr = 2
09/27/2012 07:57:14.735 AM - response = ACK, data correct transmitted

sequence number is not always 4th..

Hi Brian,

I am new to OSA and first of all I would like to thank you for the excellent work done until now. There are several alternatives to this software, but the database/objects approach is very versatile and as I know a bit of .NET, this was the right choice for me. :D

My first attempt was to control a Technotrend module (ARC type with two wheels, e.g. A01) with the brand new RFXTrx that I've got. So I created an ARC BINARY SWITCH and put B01 in the Address field. It didn't work, the log reported an error (in French) saying there was a type conversion error. So I downloaded the source code and saw that line 98 was guilty (it is the code for lighting1 type):

kar[(byte)LIGHTING1.housecode] = (byte)Convert.ToInt32(obj.Address.Substring(0, 1));

I changed the code this way:

char c = (char)Convert.ToChar (obj.Address.Substring(0, 1));
kar[(byte)LIGHTING1.housecode] = (byte)Convert.ToInt32(c);

Recompiled and tada! everything runs fine! :lol:

I don't know if anybody else ran into this issue, it is possible that it has something to do with Unicode characters which cause an issue in the direct string -> byte conversion (I am running a French version of Windows). Also, I don't know if this correction leads to error when using lighting1 devices other than ARC. So I let you see if this piece of code deserves to be taken into the official source.

Greetings from Switzerland,

Marc
