W800RF signal garbage.

#1 Post by Humanzee » Thu Mar 03, 2011 10:45 pm

Ver0.2.0
Something is very wrong with my W800RF Behavior.
While looking at the log,
If I send A1 ON from a KR22a I see
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - HouseCode=A UnitCode=1 FunctionCode=ON
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - ---------------------------------------------------------------------
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - Set: X10-A1 to ON
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - HouseCode=M UnitCode=1 FunctionCode=ON
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - ---------------------------------------------------------------------
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - Set: X10-M1 to ON
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - HouseCode=A UnitCode=1 FunctionCode=ON
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - ---------------------------------------------------------------------
3/3/2011 10:22:28 PM - Set: X10-A1 to ON

and it goes back and forth from A1 ON to M1 ON about 5-10 times
If I do A1 OFF I get the same thing but it toggles from A1 ON to O1 ON.

I never see the expected A1 OFF, and get M1 and O1 ON codes when not wanted.

If I send A2 ON, I get A1 On and N1 On
If I send A2 OFF, I get A1 On and P1 On
If I send K1 ON, I get K1 On and M1 On
If I send K1 OFF, I get K1 On and O1 On
etc.

Because I have 15 - 20 MS16a's I get a sea full of spam when OSA is running. My W800rf Log was about 4mb today when I looked at it. That is for a combined maybe 5 hours of total OSA up time.

For kicks I put in some new batteries while trouble shooting, and loaded vcrib. Everything logs as expected with vcrib, so its not some random RF noise around hear.

I also had added a second X10 sensor type x10 photocell where the settings are the same as X10 Sensor, however, I removed the timer and changed the labels. I don't think this is realated but thought I should mention it.

I would have deleted my new object type to test, however, there is no delete button for the object, just its state, event, method etc.

Man, I thought it was just me. I have never seen garbage on the W800RF before, but it is shutting my house down with spam. I thought it was my antenna, but since you are seeing it too, it makes me hopeful and I will trouble shoot it in software.

For the record, I have been using the W800RF in OSA since the beginning, I have never seen this before until I reloaded a backup DB recently... So I must have done something recently...

Hey,
As I was upgrading to the latest code, I was looking in the W800RF code, and I saw the COM port time setting at 100ms. I kinda remembered thinking I lowered to thinkiting it was the debounce setting. I set it up to 110ms, and it might even should be 120ms. This setting is in code only.

Anyways, my W800RF is working like a rockstar now, I don't see any garbage.

If you are still having trouble, I can send you a W800RF build to see if it fixes you issues.

Just let me know,
Vaughn

This is not fixed for me, I finally got the port open and it is logging in 032 with th 0.3.0 w8000rf plugin, but it ls logging crap again. I set my de-bounce in the objects window all the way up to 150 and even 1000 but it is still logging multiple entries per signal, and they are the wrong house code and id number. My motion here should be sending K7 ON and it logs K1 ON and C1 ON or rather K1,K1,K1,C1,C1,C1,K1,K1,C1,C1 with one button press.

Uh this is actually normal. Well, it is normal for the W800RF app to see this spam, but it should filter it out and only 1 entry should go into the OSA log.

Devices like the MS16A actually spam on purpose to make sure their signals get heard, they send signals in sets of 3. The W800RF should only show these in the log if DEBUG is set to true, and only 1 should make it into the main Event Log.

Where do you set the debug value?
The fact that it is spamming entries is one thing, but it is spamming under the wrong house code and device ID.

I have verified that the correct/expected signals are seen by "W800RF32A Demo.exe"

The Debug property in on the SYSTEM object. Set it to False and it should stop logging the spam.

Changed the system property debug to false, restarted, even rebooted, no change in behavior. uninstalled OSA, dropped schema, reinstalled OSA, intalled W800RF ver 3.0 plugin, started service, set W800RF com port to 2. double checked debug mode in fresh install, it is null vs False. stopped service, started service, Sent K7 ON and get this in the logs.

If you set Degub to True, it should show the raw signal values so we can see if something is just getting swapped....

And can compare them to the demo app....

At least it looks like hardware is eliminated.
