X10 UM506 support

#1 Post by Milenko » Wed Feb 16, 2011 3:19 pm

Anyone using an X10 UM506 universal module? This is the only X10 device I have right now and I can't get it to work in OSA. I'm using a CM15A. It works fine in the ActiveHome software, so I know the hardware is working.

The CM15A.log just contains:

Code: Select all

2/16/2011 6:15:49 PM - Found my Object Name: CM15A-milly
2/16/2011 6:15:49 PM - Transmit Only is set to: FALSE
2/16/2011 6:15:49 PM - Transmit RF is set to: FALSE
2/16/2011 6:15:49 PM - Debounce is set to: 120ms
2/16/2011 6:16:52 PM - *** Shutdown Received
I have the object type set as an X10 relay. I've created a state object for it in the GUI just like my Z-Wave devices but clicking on it doesn't cause it to cycle. I also tried tripping it with a script and that doesn't work either.

Any ideas?

Do you have Active Home Pro (AHP) and the AHP SDK installed.

I think his logs would have showed a COM error if he did not have the SDK installed.

Here is the deal:

Can you send ANY X10 signals?

If yes, then everything in OSA is fine, and it is the location/signal issues in your house with the universal module. There are no settings for it. It hears an X10 signal or it does not.

Manu fought for like 2 weeks before he finally moved his transceiver and fixed his issues. X10 signal problems have been well documented for 30 years.

Do you have a Phase Bridge/Repeater? Do you have an X10 Signal Meter? If not, move the Universal module to the same power leg near your CM15A and retest.
