Nothing jumps out at me from the Windows Event Viewer logs.

Starting OSAE Service produces just a nice "Information: Service started successfully" report.

On doing a restart of MySql I get the following list of reports (abbreviated):

Right, bedtime here in UK. Thanks for your time on this Automate. I'll be back, but it might not be for a couple of days.

Have you tried disabling UAC?

Did you install the plugin while logged in as administrator?

Hello. I've tried a re-install of the Zwave plugin (but not complete OSA) with UAC disabled, but same errors on running.

Yes, that too.

I've had my brother looking at this too and he's noticed a possible issue with version numbers of the OpenZWaveDotNet.dll file.
OSAE.Zwave.dll calls for OpenZWaveDotNet.dll version 1.0.4891.22895, whereas the actual (64-bit) version installed is 1.0.4711.33338 . Might that be it?

You need to install the MS Visual C++ libraries here.

Sorry, this was in the instructions from an earlier ZWave plugin thread. I think I should include the installer for the libraries with the plugin.

Thanks Brian that did the trick. The Z-wave plugin is working!

However I should mention for anyone else with the same problem that the version for 64-bit architecture is here instead.

I've just checked the 'OSAE Service' Log and it's still showing same error output for Jabber as listed by MindMusic in the post of Sat Dec 21, 2013 5:59 pm.

From the 'Plugin Loader' log I have:

Code: Select all

12/28/2013 10:01:24.618 PM - DLL Found while loading Plugins:C:\Program Files\OSA\Plugins\Jabber\ OSAE.Jabber.dll
12/28/2013 10:01:24.625 PM - Exposed Type: OSAE.Jabber.Jabber
12/28/2013 10:01:24.629 PM - DLL Found while loading Plugins:C:\Program Files\OSA\Plugins\Jabber\agsXMPP.dll
12/28/2013 10:01:24.651 PM - Exposed Type: agsXMPP.Xml.xpnet.NS
12/28/2013 10:01:24.654 PM - Exposed Type: agsXMPP.Xml.Dom.Node
This is followed by many more line of the 'Exposed Type:' variety.

I'm not too bothered for myself at the moment whether Jabber works (don't even know what it does yet!), but happy to carry out some further experiments if useful for you.

We use 3rd party DLLs from various source and can't always be sure what version of Visual C++ they were compiled with. If you are on a 64 bit OS it is recommended to install both the 32 and 64 bit redistributables. Here is what is installed on my PC.

Hi, sorry for the slow response. Well I've not got as many versions of Visual C++ installed as you, but here's my list:

The two 2012 versions have been added today, but the Jabber errors in the OSAE log remain the same...
