Setting property values

#1 Post by jschuryk » Fri Oct 21, 2011 9:36 pm

Hi,

I have several zwave dimmer switches. I can't seem to figure out how to set the dim level.

There is a property on the switch called Level.

from a pattern script, I'd like to set the level to say 50.

I've tried many things...

Lamp.Level = 50
Lamp.Set Property.Level.50
Lamp.Set Property.Level = 50
Lamp.Set Property.Level = "50"

and many more...

Nothing seems to work and I can't seem to find any example syntax.

Thanks,

Jerry

You should be able to set the level of the dimmer when calling the ON method. Just pass a value 0-100 as a parameter. Syntax in scripting would be something like this:

My Dimmer.Run Method.ON.75

Same with some Insteon/X10 stuff, Absolute dimming is part of the ON command, and if there are separate DIM/Brite commands, they are for relative dimming.
