Debug scripts

#1 Post by mlinnen » Thu Dec 03, 2015 8:23 pm

The wiki states that there is a debug property on the system object but in 4.6 I don't see this property. Is there a different way to set debug logging? Also is there a way to write debug statements in a script?

SYSTEM should definitely have a debug property.

CALL osae_sp_object_type_property_add('SYSTEM','Debug','Boolean','','TRUE',0);

Yep I ran that in the script editor and now I see the Debug property on SYSTEM object and I can set it. I keep forgetting that you can add whatever properties to an object for your own use. I could have also just gone to the object type maintenance screen and added the property there.

It should have already been there though... And yeah, you can add it many ways. I just pasted that from the object type export so you have the values.

I will probably publish 047 tomorrow anyways if you have more problems.

Yea I will upgrade to 4.7 as soon as it is pushed out. I am just getting started in OSA so I can do a fresh install if needed without much issue. Will plugins be upgraded and posted as well when 4.7 gets posted?

As for the plugins, every one that we have source for is all prepped for 047. The plugins that other users have uploaded in the past will be removed, so everything that will be there, should work.

We will be losing some plugins in this process, since users never sent us the source and are unavailable now, etc. We need to push harder to get source for public/free plugins before we host them in the future.

I have 047 plugins compiled here already if you would like to test a couple, just ask and I will attach them.

Brian is better at Git and what it would take for you to add it.

As for me, I would just say zip it and email it to me and I would add it to my directory and commit it to Git. I am sure this method is not sustainable, but I can do it.

Sending us a zip of your code will work, but you could can also clone the OSA repository and then submit a pull request with your code and it can get merged in that way.
