OSA over the internet, is it secure enough?

#1 Post by dj-eon » Wed Jun 28, 2017 3:45 am

Hi.
As the subject line says, is OSA secure enough to just run over the internet?
Or is a VPN and/or other security essential first?

I'm sure this will have been asked before, but I couldn't find any other thread.

Thanks.

There are 2 tickets open for security improvements.

I think both need to be implemented before we could ever declare a public production version. REST security and SSL basically.

I have never had an issue in all these years, but I would not let it control door locks on a jewelry store yet either.

I was always a thick client developer, and web is a weak area for me. I am starting on my certification for these web skills and I will try to get both security measures implemented. However I would welcome any assistance from any web resource that can work in these areas.
