Stock Art Help!!!
Stock Art Help!!!
We need to include a decent set of default graphics so new users can quickly implement at least basic graphics out of the box.
We need to locate good sets of graphics, buttons, shapes, objects, etc.
We should also decide what the best floor plan (free or cheap) and copy all of its graphics sets in here so when they use that tool, they will have matching graphics already in the system. I need recommendations on these tools.
Lastly a guide to finding the graphic design tools, loading the graphics and navigation elements, etc. would be really helpful.
Give me some feedback.

May I suggest http://www.sweethome3d.com/
This is free to download.
Comes stock with hundreds of graphics.
Graphics can be altered, created or imported from libraries available on the internet.
You can even use AutoCad and create a graphic.
The biggest CON would be, images would have to be exported to be converted to a format compatiable with OSA (png, jpeg, gif, etc..)

I use sweet home 3d for our house renovations but what we would really need is a nice slick web based option..
A quick search brings up sites like roomle.com etc

I just redid my floorplan with Sweet Home 3D, it was actually pretty easy to use. However, it is pretty limited and has a very limit graphics set. Really made it hard for my to get my "Opened Door" images, etc. But it is usable and nice, but I think I will try a few others perfore throwing out any praise.

Knocked this up in about 5 minutes at http://www.floorplanner.com
Although it doesn't look like there is much option to show doors open and closed. Not much choice in lighting either.... Couldn't see any way to import custom objects, might be a pay only feature.

Re: Stock Art Help!!!
As I am doing my new graphics, I have a couple standard images that I think should be made available. For example, I have the 5 images to make a MS16A Motion Detector (1 for OFF, and 4 for ON to be animated. But if we put them in the database, it makes the install scripts big, and maybe they are unwanted. So should we host them on the web site, or in Git? I have also animated a generic looking ceiling fan, and about to do a full set of basic arrows, all with transparent backgrounds, etc.
I am not ready to put up a Showcase as my system is still just a little beta thing, but if people are interested in a demo of the new controls and see what the animation looks like, etc, I can bang out a little video prior to 0.4.4 release so people can be prepared....

Here is latest State Image showing the animation setup...

Re: Stock Art Help!!!
I cant wait to try it out!!
This also brings back up the need to be able add Custom controls like a plugin!
Also, while I was creating my new TV remote for my Sony Plugin, I had another Idea.
Instead of using clear png's over my buttons, It would be cool if you could do Image Mapping on the background image.

Re: Stock Art Help!!!
I have pondered zone mapping a few times, and may still try it someday. The main problems is that your buttons would not have any Cliick Effects... It won't show the button being depressed... In the image above, I would Cut out all those buttons, then place them on a black background with the new Click Control...
