Re: Heating Control

That link does not seem to be working for me it just goes to the home page of the store.

Do you want the thermostat to control one of the outputs and OSA to control the other?

What methods and properties did OSA create for the receiver object?

Re: Heating Control

It seems as though your actual thermostat, not the OSA plugin should communicate with the receiver. If your receiver is joined to the network then the next thing I would think you need to do is create an association between the thermostat and the receiver. OSA gives the thermostat a setpoint. The th...

Re: Any news on when 0.4.4 will be released?

My vote is to go back to the NSIS installer. My issue with the current installer is that it keeps a record of the version of every file and tries to re-install the original version if you ever try to modify any of the files. This is not only a problem with OSA version upgrades but also an issue if y...

Re: Is OSA appropriate/useful for...

I like to use the site AlternativeTo. You put in the name of a program and it gives you names of alternative programs, some of which are free or open source. So when you put in WinAutomation you get http://alternativeto.net/software/winautomation/ AutoHotKey and AutoIt are two free programs it retur...

Re: Is OSA appropriate/useful for...

What other programs did you try? Do you need to control devices such as lights, thermostats or TVs? If not, you may not need OSA. PowerShell is built upon MS .NET so you can use the full power of .NET in a PowerShell script. This means if you can find a .NET library (also called an assembly or DLL) ...

Re: How to stop OSA voice from listen

Welcome to OSA! I don't use the voice features of OSA so I don't know for sure but looking through the speech plugins properties I see some about muting the mic so I'm thinking it should be possible. You don't have to use PowerShell, you could use the Script Processor plugin which is installed by de...

Re: Is OSA appropriate/useful for...

Welcome to OSA. OSQ was written to control devices in the home such as lights, thermostats/HVAC, garage doors, etc. It can be used to do other types of "automation" such as those you list but they are not the primary reason for developing the software. OSA includes a powerful scripting language whic...

Re: more information about OSA

Glad you found OSA. Please come back and provide a link to your report when you get finished. OSA is object oriented. Objects have states, properties, methods and events. Internally all objects are handled the same way regardless of whether they are X10, Zwave, Insteon, etc. Internally OSA refers to...

Re: First Alert ZCombo Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detector

@sunnysylvester, welcome to OSA. The First Alert smoke detectors are not currently supported by the OSA Zwave plugin since the plugin is dependent upon the OpenZwave library and OpenZave currently does not support the detectors. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/openzwave/first$20alert/open...
