Re: Idea - client "registration"

The clients currently register themselves and "own" commands. As far as them tagging everything they write to the DB, I just tried to do this last week and I broke the system while Brian was out of town. So I know we need it and all apps will register their calls. Now that Brian is back home, I will...

Re: What hardware/software do you want supported?

I found the method, you just call sendrf along with the existing sendplc commands. So I will add that and you can turn it on and off via the CM15A Property: Transmit RF (TRUE/FALSE) I think I need it off or my W800RF would hear it and create loops, so no problem though, just flip the switch and use ...

Re: What hardware/software do you want supported?

I will try it. I just finished VR and am going to put up some X10 lights to experiment with. So I will just be using the Cm15A for the next few weeks until Brian gets me back on ZWave. So this is the most love the CM15A client will have ever received. Just curious, what are the senerios that this is...

Re: Explaination of general architecture goals?

I personally will not be making any iPhone or Android applications Even if I can get you a fee Android Device? ;) Well, the problem is not really the hardware, it is my limited programming skills. By using .NET, a Windows 7 Phone app is very similar to my current skill set. To make a dedicated Andr...

Re: Automation inside a VM?

I ran my house on my main TV machine. Windows lets you send WAV & TTS to different outputs, so in general I was fine with 2 sound cards, but the main sound client could not play audio through the HA setup, but for HA TTS is worked good. I bought a little netbook when I was out of town, I am going to...

Re: VR, Intelligent Conversations and Occupancy in OSAE?

After 2 days of work, I have the VR module working. Here is how it works, in OSAE you define patterns like: Greetings Home Mode Who is here For each of these patterns, you can define multiple matches, so Greetings looks like this: Greetings: Hi Hello Hey Hey There So when any of those are heard, the...

Re: Here we go again.

Just FYI, I have been back working on the project. I have made some decent progress on the GUI, Speech App and Scripting. Doing some work on the VR now. Brian is out of pocket for a couple of weeks now, but I am coding full time so we are starting to see lots of updates get posted. I will not try to...

Re: Explaination of general architecture goals?

The answer to your question is that ANY technology that can query a DB can be used. We can have an old .ASP interface and a Silverlight or Flash interface all running at the same time. There is no need to choose. As for what we put out there, the first web interface I would write would be a ASP.NET ...

Re: Automation inside a VM?

It works, but is a pain because things like DVDs, Com ports, printers all have to be configured whether to be passed through to the VM or not. It was too much for me to worry about so I did not ever put the time in to get it to work. I think the best thing to do for your home automation server is to...

Re: VR, Intelligent Conversations and Occupancy in OSAE?

If I had the option, the ONLY thing I would be working on is AI/NLP. My end goal is to have a house that can converse with me. Turning lights on and off is old news and is not why we are creating this software. However Lighting, HVAC, basic scripts and logic, graphical interfaces and more are staple...
