it does automatically elevate, i have never tried the installer with a standard user account so not sure how it would behave as realistically most home users will be an admin. in the %temp% folder there is 2 logs with similar names associated to the installer can you post the larger of the 2 logs.

Having thought about it, whats more likely causing you an issue is that there is an outstanding tweak for the installer in the next release. The quick work around is to just delete the OSAE key prior to installation (HKLM\Software\OSAE).

I don't think there is an easy solution to the problem. There is a fusion log u can enable however this has a performance impact if it is turned on.

The new MSI installer is transnational, if any component of the install fails it will roll back any changes it has made. I would imagine it is probably a dependency, if you check HKLM\Software\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\PowerShellSnapins\OSA is the key still present and populated with values? Is there anything in the registry that may shed more light?
