Re: install problem 0.4.3

Before delving in too deep, just want to knock another simple gotcha, when the dialogue pops up asking for the username and password for the DB are you typing the root password or the OSAE username and password? if its the latter then you need to use root during install however it won't use it at ru...

Re: install problem 0.4.3

it does automatically elevate, i have never tried the installer with a standard user account so not sure how it would behave as realistically most home users will be an admin. in the %temp% folder there is 2 logs with similar names associated to the installer can you post the larger of the 2 logs.

Re: install problem 0.4.3

Having thought about it, whats more likely causing you an issue is that there is an outstanding tweak for the installer in the next release. The quick work around is to just delete the OSAE key prior to installation (HKLM\Software\OSAE).

If I remember correctly updates were made to the WCF code on the server to make it more reliable and it hasn...

Re: Plugin loader to log what DLL is causing the problem

I don't think there is an easy solution to the problem. There is a fusion log u can enable however this has a performance impact if it is turned on.

Re: install problem 0.4.3

The new MSI installer is transnational, if any component of the install fails it will roll back any changes it has made. It works particularly well during upgrades as if the upgrade fails it will put the files back to the state in the previous version rather than leaving some files upgraded and othe...

Re: Powershell scripts stopped working

I would imagine it is probably a dependency, if you check HKLM\Software\Microsoft\PowerShell\1\PowerShellSnapins\OSA is the key still present and populated with values? Is there anything in the registry that may shed more light?

Hi jschuryk.

What OS + architecture are you using? I'm guessing one of the updates was a major .NET release?
