Sounds like you have things pretty much figured out. I am curious to see how it works for you.

Media straming software

In some of my internet browsing I stumbled on a piece of software that looks like it would be useful to people in the room. It is for streaming your media from anywhere. The software is called Remote Potato http://www.remotepotato.com/mediacenter.aspx . I didn't look at it too terribly close, but th...

Re: Another Migration issue from XP to Windows 7

What I was talking about thought is that there is a difference between accessing the computer from the outside world, meaning anywhere outside your house and on the Wide Area Network (WAN) side of the connection. if you are trying to access it from a computer within your house that is behind the sam...

Re: Android App

Maze,

Hit the menu button on the bottom of your phone or tablet and click on "setting". You should have 4 config options:
Server IP
Server REST Port
Server HTTP Port
Default HTTP Page

This should fix things for you.

Re: Another Migration issue from XP to Windows 7

I don't quite know how to set the 8732 port up. Y...

Re: Another Migration issue from XP to Windows 7

One of the easiest ways to tell if something like that is a firewall issue is to temporarily turn the firewall off. If it works with the firewall off, you can bet that it is something in there that is hanging it up.

Re: Sensors are not going to off state.

I am guessing that you are talking about your motion sensors. What model of sensors are they? With the X10 motion sensors you can set the amount of time before an off command is sent. You can set this for up to 256 minutes. It is possible that it is set to a higher delay. I set mine to the highest d...

Re: Sensing Sun Light Level and Motor Operation

Hmmmm... Dan, I have thought about my motor sensing and want to the following by you. 1) A [pvc] tube with a light bulb at one end and a photocell at the other end. 2) The light bulb is connected to the burner motor so it is on when the motor is on. 3) The photocell is connected to the parallel por...
