Re: MySQL 5.7 issue

You should take a look at "Macrium Reflect" for backing up and restoring your boot drive. Its free for personal use. I use it all the time, particularly if I try to upgrade anything on my OSA PC. Its saved me 100's of hours of frustration. If I break something in OSA, I can restore my 64 gig SSD in ...

Re: MySQL 5.7 issue

Since I went back to MySQL 5.6 the issue has never come back. My machine runs 24/7. Did you just uninstall, as I wiped the whole operating system and started again. Maybe not everything was removed from MySQL 5.7 ? I'm not sure why else you would still have this issue. If my memory serves, MySQL 5.7...

Re: Z-wave and .4.8

Some time back, I had the same issue (at least I think it was the same error). In the plugin folder for Z-Wave, it was calling OpenZWaveDotNet.dll, but it needed the 64 bit version to match my os. I needed to get rid of OpenZWaveDotNet.dll, then rename OpenZWaveDotNet.dll.x64 to OpenZWaveDotNet.dll ...

Re: Question about MySQL and script.

Stefan, I've expanded my OSA plugin to support the ESP8266 devices over WiFi.
Let me know if you want to see the code for both parts.
Best regards,
Ian.

Re: Plugin help, How do I lookup a method name from its labe

Thanks Kherron, that's really helpful. I've removed all the color options from the methods and just added them as properties with their corresponding values + altered the code to suit in the plugin. I do have one other question though. I normally switch the default color in OSA scripting, e.g.: TV l...

Plugin help, How do I lookup a method name from its label ?

Hi. This is driving me crazy as I know the answer is simple, but I just can't figure it out. My object has lots of methods for switching light colors. For example something like: LED light Object Methods: Name Label 567476476 Red 123213687 Green 653727233 Blue ON On I also have a property on the obj...

Re: Question about MySQL and script.

Hi Stefan. I did consider using WIFI units with my design, and although it has some obvious advantages, there are some down sides. I've just checked. The biggest issue is running ESP8266 on batteries. It consumes up to 1mA all the time. I suspect it would need to be on all the time? My temperature s...

Re: OSA on a cheap Windows tablet PC (Chuwi vi8, Intel CPU)

If anyone else is thinking of buying a Chuwi vi8 tablet PC to do this, I'd suggest you hold off for now. It has an issue where it does not charge whilst switched on, even though it says its charging in Windows. At the moment, I'm trying other power supplies and things to get it to charge. Its very w...
